I finally called it off with the gf (well, ex gf) this evening. It's something that I hope I will never have to do again. It was getting to the point where I really had to watch what I say around her. Also, I'm not used to getting questioned on everything I do. Maybe I wasn't ready for a deeper relationship (almost to the point of marriage).

Unfortunately, I really messed up by telling her a lot of things that she wanted to hear (kids, a better future together, etc). I feel really bad for saying that. I felt that I needed to say those things to keep her off my back (basically, one less argument to deal with). I know no relationshipp is perfect and people do argue, but I felt really trapped. Maybe she loved me more than I loved her.

sounds like a case of her wanting to have control. I often find myself in the same situation because I'm too nice or quiet. also, with everything women have to put up with, its hard to find a woman that doesn't have that tough exterior like they want you to know how strong they are, and that you can never control them. maybe I'm just attracted to the wrong kind of women. Grats on getting out of it I should say, love is blinding.

If you think things are tough now go ahead and get married. Then you'll know tough. What is that saying having your cake...Never mind.

Man - you did the right thing...there will be days where you will question the decision that you just made. My best friend once told me - always look forward not backward...and darn it she was right.
