Cox cable in partnership with NBC has a HD channel dedicated to Olympic soccer as well as one for basketball. They both run about 12 hours of coverage a day.

Why does it seem like all of China's female gymnasts are about 12 years old? I thought there was an age limit....

Had to stay awake till 1:30am to watch the results but:

I haven't watched last night's meet yet (it's on my DVR), but Shawn Johnson's beam performances in the qualifying round and in the team final round were the best gymnastics I've ever seen. I've been watching gymnastics for 20+ years and have never seen such solid performances on any event, let alone the beam.

The floor routines last night were nothing less than brilliant. You are going to crap your pants when you see the rest.

I did miss Johnson on the beam. I turned on the olympics around midnight and caught the end of Yang's routine and saw Liulin's beam...

To protect the "faint of heart", I will not post a direct link to the Beijing Weightlifting accident that just happened with a Hungarian competitor during his lift. Just google "weightlifting + accident + Hungarian".

Picture an elbow bending in a direction it should NOT be bending in. Brutal....

Do you think those olympic weightlifters get a lot of calls from their friends to help them move?
