There are a few affordable bottles I like. Liberty School, J Lohr, Coppola,... all under $20 at the local liquor store. Haven't tried Yellow Tail. But wine out of a box

Believe me, I was kidding about wine out of a box. For a good red try Molly Dooker. For a lighter red get Two Left Feet, for a little more umph get the Boxer. Both should run between 15-20 a bottle and are both shiraz. As far as quality for taste you wil not beat it.

No, no. Yellow Tail doesn't come in a box. It costs about $10-$15 per bottle. I am no aficionado, but from what I have heard it is rated as being a good value in the wine world. I have friends with stocked wine cellars and even they seem to say good things about it. Granted, it is not on their top shelf collecting dust or anything, but it is pretty good as an everyday type wine.

Side note, I have actually read in a few places that there are a few companies that are actually starting to package some higher end wines in boxes these days.

-Warm/Hot Summer eve, (or, in our FLA Joint most eves):
Bombay Sapphire, a lil'tonic, on rocks in a tall glass with lime.
-Any Cool to Cold eve: 3 fingers of any of my single malts with
a cube or two. There is not a single malt I've met, that I don't
like and I've tried a hundred...
-in lieu of a cocktail: a glass or two of sipping wine, (red or white),
pre-dindin, followed by a flagon of a very good wine from our collection
based upon what's for eats.
-If it's cool to cold and we have company, maybe crack a '70 vintage
oporto for after dindin.

I try very hard to limit my cocktail to one, and any drinking to 4 evenings/dinners
a week; in retirement, I've seen way too many people have a "nightly drink" which
leads to 3 or 4 nightly drinks, which leads to...

Motordavid... god bless a good port. For my age I know a good bit about ports, so I found it astonishing when I saw a 100 yr Fladgate on a menu... needess to say I had to try it. What came next was my only scene I have ever made in a restaurant. And it was subtle to all except the manager. They bring out a tray of four glasses of port. A 10yr 20yr 30yr 40yr... not exactly a 100yr port.. unless you add together. So they thought I was just a young gun who didn't know my ass from my elbow and I got the manager out. Turns out it is a 'typo' on the menu meant to say 100years of Fladgate, which the server neglected to tell me, and judging from the scenario was not advertised to anyone. Needless to say my port sampler ended up being on the house that night.

I simply stick with whiskey, with occasional jager nights... But there are so many different great whiskeys to suit whatever I feel like!

Michelle... not much better than a fresh margarita on rocks with silver, occasionally anejo
weasel... I am no longer allowed to drink jager due to the fact that last time I did I ended up in/started what became a damn near legendary barfight
