+1. Keep in mind that you can order the M sportpacket in many countries, inclusive Canada. It includes toys like a M shifter, steering wheel, and aero kit. In the US, we can essentially get the //M sportpaket by ordering the sport package in the X3, and that even includes M door sills! However, when folks start putting on M badges on their bootlid or grille (eww), that's just getting out of hand.

Don't forget the one on the side as well

With the M-Sport kit on some models, it is much more than the simple aero body kit you get in the US. We get the M labels on four wheels, door sills, pedals, shifter, steering wheel, and so on. But we also get the M-Sport suspension (different than the sport suspension) and the short-throw shifter. This is on the 5 series. I see all the M badges, and smile, because I know it just chokes some people. I would never add them myself, but I think it is funny how people have definitions that it is wrong on the deck lid, but OK on the wheels; that it is OK on an X5, but wrong on an E90 or E60. Who made up all these rules? It isn't an M5, it is an E60 M Sport. Deal with it.

I think adding incorrect badges is laughable, whether you are pretending that your 530 is an M5 or that your 520 is a 530. They are all good cars, quit faking it, it only shows your insecurity.

I agree 100% with that.

IMO, the reason I don't mind the M on the wheels, shift knob and so on is because those are actual M parts. Those individual parts deserve to wear that badge. When you put an M badge on the deck lid you are completely faking and it seems different to me. Adding some M parts doesn't make your car an M. Adding an M to the decklid of a non-M car is like buying tiny M stickers and putting them on your regular BMW wheels. It is just wrong people.

Alright guys..so I had to post this today...I'm driving to work this morning pull up next to a 7...It was black, black 20's, tinted, most likely a 750i from the different trunk lid...Except one thing...The idiot had no 750i badge on there. He decided to fabricate his own, get this....///M7!! badge! ..Couldn't hold my laughter after i saw that.... This is totally different then slapping an ///M3 badge on a 3 series...At least an M3 actually exists!! In my opinion...What a tool....

ive seen some sort of e-class mercedes with the s55 amg badges.. this was like 2 years ago in seattle.
