lakai,
What I don't get is that you started this thread, it veered not surprisingly
to 'Bama vs. McPain, (neither of whom can really address, let alone "fix"
a decade plus worth of 3 Card Monte inventions by the Street), and
yet the O vs Mc drum keeps getting pounded, even by you, Thread
Originator...

I can hardly wait for the elections to be over...

Imo, this financial mess may be the most complex, serious non-war situ, this
country has faced in my lifetime.

LOL I my reason for this thread was genuine. Somehow it turned into a Obama vs. McCain thread and veered way off topic which was not my fault.

Someone recently reminded me of the below quote, the clairvoyance of the founders...

“I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties
than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to
control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation,
the banks and corporations that will grow up around [the banks] will
deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on
the continent their fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken
from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs.”

- Thomas Jefferson
Letter to the Secretary of the Treasury Albert Gallatin (1802)

The part Jefferson didn't account for was that the people would be just as corrupt as the banks.

Oops....
