Autumn Views, Redux ...
 ...this has been the best autumn, weather-wise, that we have had in our 7+ years here in HillbillyHeaven. While the "color" is not in the same league as NY, New England or the western mountain states, it was pretty damn good for western NC. And, "Indian Summer" came with a long and warm respite. If the leaves were only dollar bills, I would have collected a few dozen bags full and would not care a lick about the Mkt...  Some shots from the past few days, but by this eve, the trees are mostly bare here at 5,000 feet and the color has faded even below, in the valley. Chillyfookinwilly, with more snow forecast for this weekend. I am still wearing shorts on the Golf'emUp Track as I am in denial and, we are getting ready for FLA. Thanks for looking!  BR, mD A lucky sunrise, adjusted slightly for effect, but no PS:  A lil' leftover snow from a week ago:  Dusk light on Mt Pisgah, across the valley from our Joint:  And, a nice dusk shot:  Looking "down" our Mtn, toward Waynesville, NC...Peak Color, imo:  One of my recent/fave shots of Lickstone Ridge, with The Cold Mtn peeking behind...medium telephoto:  And, a pretty unusual, very hazy late morning shot from today, after the lake of valley fog had lifted...  Unless the Saucers fly by, or something really unusual pops up here, view-wise, that's about it for this Season. Next stop is flatazz, high density, StarterShack, FLA. Schöne Bilder! (Beautiful pictures)
I saw some great color on my drive south; its an endless sea of trees and nothingness in South central VA. Well, the waning sunshine combined with my amber-lense sunglasses contributed to the overall beauty too I already know this, but it really seems like you're very high in elevation to get those great cloud shots. When are you making your southward trek to FL? There is truth to the statement "I travel south [to UNC/Duke] every year when the leaves begin to fall, and when the leaves begin to grow". I remember similar good scenery last year too.
