How about wearing some of those wool leggings over the braclets. Not really sure what they're called. They're kind of like socks with the foot part cut off.

Wear something long sleeve and hide it underneath. Or wear clinical gloves.

I only wear a watch (with a non-metal band) so denting it up isn't a problem, but the oils/sweat from my hands is when I've been typing for a few hours. It has now corroded one of the palm rests on my MacBook Pro. I've heard Apple will replace it under warranty, but that involves shipping it out, and blah blah blah too much to bother.
Said corrosion is small black dots near/right on where the metal palm rest meets the edge of the plastic lip, right above the CD drive.

Mine's not that bad, but you have to remember these are tools, and you use tools and therefore don't worry about it, it's going to show wear, everything you have can't be in pristine condition

Yeah, that's exactly what I was getting. Small black dots that seemed like metal was corroded off the case. I always thought it was my bracelet that was causing it, now I learned, it's sweat, oils from my hand... INTERESTING..

Mrkbbd, I do agree with you and could care less about keeping it pristine. But let me explain. The black dots and corrosion that I'm speaking of, once you start to get it on the hand rest, the flaked metal actually bothers my skin. The hand rest becomes rough, coarse, like sandpaper and becomes a skin irritant.

So the reason to protect it is less about appearance and more about comfort.

you need a Lenovo. Never a corrosion problem.

Get some clear plastic laminate, cut to size and place on the problem areas. It will be easy to clean and protect the surface.

Makes sense then, mine isn't bad enough to cause a skin problem, interestingly enough the places I touch the least are the one's that are peeling, case in point the lid release button
