Panasonic! If you compare a Panny next to other models, you will notice the difference. I've had a TH42PX500U for over 5 years and its still just as clear and crisp as the day I bought it. Its even better than my 50" pioneeer elite plasma.

Panasonic have only jumped to LCD in the 37" and under bracket, well in my part of the world looking at their website and our local Shop,

Sony stopped because they couldn't compete with the excellence of Panasonic and they are hoping the OLED TV will be the next generation.

Much cheaper to manufacture. LCD's are just bright. Plasma has deeper blacks and colors are more vivid. I have both LCDs and plasmas and while I use each for certain types of viewing, I prefer lcd for standard def normal viewing, and plasma for sports, and movies.

Go to frys to demo the screens and when you finally decide on the one you want, order it online from an authorized dealer.

That's because that model is not a consumer model, it's the pro model, and doesn't come with speakers. It's primarily designed for use as a "display" not as a television, but can be used as either. Not sold in stores usually.
