The crash makes you realize that we have a great system and the pilot did a great job . Did you see the photos of all those people helping the passengers?

It takes your mind off the economy and makes you proud to be a American.

What does it have to do with the state of the economy? It's great that passengers and crew are alive but it didn't take my mind off the state of the economy -- have you looked at how bad the financial markets are today????

I am no modcat -- you are...

I saw the breaking news as it happened this afternoon.

This was a situation that could have very easily been a disaster. Props to the pilots for getting the Airbus safely onto the water.

After this and the Air France incident in Canada a few years ago, I have a feeling that lately the only crashes with no fatalities are on Airbuses..
Props to the flight crew; and that's a great picture chilli

I always wondered if the "seat bottoms can be used as a flotation device" would ever come into play in a real life situation... Hope everyone came out of it ok! Seems the pilots did a great job setting her down just right, probably the best landing possible in the given situation.

Sorry, but I don't see how a great plane landing and rescue has anything to do with either the economy or being American. It was a great job by the pilot and crew. Leave it at that.

Although the papers/media are full of great pics of that plane crash,
this cell phone pic is from the daughter of a good friend of ours:
she works in the City and was on a ferry ride with customers when
the crash occurred, and the ferry made full steam to the site and
took on a dozen or so wet and grateful passengers.

Damn amazing job by the pilot to do that survivable river landing.

This is the picture that I find amazing.

The water was just above freezing and there was a cold wind blowing in NY today...
