Does this happen to trhe MAC system also? Don't get me started on CELL phones, that whole system doesn't seem to work properly either.......THIS TO XP g FIX THIS S**TGRRRRR... RANT OVER.....

Life of technology. No it shouldn't happen like that. My guess is you have a machine that is online a lot and you or someone downloads 'junk'. Or you could have installed something that caused a problem. Win XP is actually VERY stable, one of the better MS operating systems.
Macs have their glitches as well, though generally not as often as Microsoft products. Macs are more expensive, different keyboard structure, etc. Not exactly the most difficult thing to work, but just not a Microsoft computer. Don't get spun on the grass is greener syndrome where "if Microsoft sucks, then Mac must be great". Not true. I have plenty of friends that switched to Macs, only to switch back. I have 3 Macs and had 3 Windows boxes (XP/Vista)

Just wondering. Doesn't the error say which Microsoft application has encountered an error and needs to close? For example, Internet Explorer or Word.
If it's one the Office applications, you might be able to solve the problem by re-installing Office (if you have the CDs). If it's Internet Explorer v6, you could download and install Internet Explorer v7. Like Wagner, I have multiple PCs running XP and Vista. My main PC is running XP (because the hardware is not great) and I have dozens of applications and many devices installed. It's as stable as rock. |

Unfortunately (actually fortunately as it happens) for me, I retired almost 20 years ago...rememer those days?
What internet, what PC, ....Laptop, ...what.....so EVERYTHING I "learned" was from trial and error by myself...you guys learned how to deal with this from work. So when you talk about "programs and applications" its "jibber jab" to me.... On another note...I had the opportunity to drive a bunch of cars at a Kruse auction here in FL recently, a lot of older muscle cars, and "restored" 60's cars boy, oh boy were they a major PIA, our 90's and 2000 are SO MUCH BETTER !!!

it is the sign that there is a whole bunch of junks (downloads and installs) on your computer that cause the problems. first of all, it creates a mess in windows registry what then causes the .dll and .exe files to load onto memory and stack up this then cause the conflict in memory and disc usage of the programs. the help you need is to buy (i recommend download) free software to fix your registry and clean up windows xp installation. here is the process:
-download spybot and destroy -install and update it -run to clean the spyware -go to advance to run windows registry cleanup, do all. -uninstall unwanted software from you computer. -clean start up programs -restart computer -defragment your drive -restart computer -do the whole process one more time (only if you have time) DONE, you now have a faster and problem free computer. XP is much more stable than Vista, FIY. DONE. (all can be done in spybot and destroy)

To answer your question... NO, this does not happen to MAC people.
I used to be die hard PC, until I moved away from my office and no longer had a staff of computer nerds. Withing 6 months, all my pc's (I had 4)were mangled. I bought a MAC, then another, then another, then another. I'm now on my 4th MAC and the only problem I have ever had was a corrupted hard drive on a Lap Top (could happen on any computer..) My MAC's are relatively trouble free. No viruses, no tech support issues, no need for computer nerds.. Go get a MAC.

Of course, it could never happen on a Mac
I should have just responded that way in my earlier post (where I was trying to help). Could have saved you a post Signed, 'Not a "get a Mac!" person' |
