What do you guys think of the Wireless Mighty Mouse?

About 3 years ago I purchased a wireless bluetooth mouse to use with my Dell laptop, and it is just awful. There is a huge amount of lag compared to a regular wired mouse. If you don't move it for a minute or two, it seems to go into some kind of power saver mode, and then when you start moving it again, it takes about 5 seconds or so to "wake up" and start being reponsive again, which is really annoying. And also, when I have used it as my regular daily mouse, it seems to need new batteries every 2-3 weeks.

Does the Wireless Mighty Mouse experience any of these symptoms, or is it basically as good as the wired one, but without the wire? Also, how long does it last before you need to change the batteries? I know it depends on use, but I tend to use my computer 2-3 hours every night. If I'm going to have to change the batteries every couple of weeks, I'll just as well get the wired one.

I used to hate my might mouse cause I had problems with it. The trackball sometimes would stick. Then someone taught me how to fix it. Now it works great. (If it sticks, you just turn it over and run the track ball up and down on a mouse pad. It immediately fixes it.. simple and quick.)

Batteries on my mouse probably need to be changed every 4-5 weeks. But I'm on it all day.

It's nice not having wires everywhere. I bought another BT Mouse from Bestbuy for my home laptop. I don't like it as much as the Might Mouse, but it was only $30.

I would also be nice to not have to use my only USB port for a mouse.

I recently bought a USB hub.. It's small, inexpensive, and gives you 3 USB ports by simply plugging it in to your existing USB.

The mighty mouse does not have a trackball. It runs on laser. Also, the wireless one connects using bluetooth and is a better bet for the AIR than the USB one.
The mighty mouse works very well, and has not given me any problems although it is quite delicate (I have broken 1) and it could use a redesign like the keyboard. Also, when it starts to lag or be unresponsive it is the Batteries and not he mouse. swap them out and you're good.

I agree with the person that said a Macbook regular or Pro is a better bet than the Macbook Air. The Air is very nice because its slim, but the specs and functions will piss you off later. I ran out of hard drive space so fast on the 64gb SSD. Also, you can not use the DVD drive with any other USB device which will end up being a problem in the future if you use your laptop a lot.

I'm also a recent converter with a 24 inch iMac... love it.... I also bought the AppleTv and before I knew it was checking out all sorts of stuff like upcoming movie previews etc all streamed to my mac or appletv.

Cannot believe how much quicker it is to perform tasks. Scanned some images the other night that would have required many more steps of editing with P/shop on a PC than it actually took on the mac.

Love the mouse ability to switch between multiple windows, and how files are easily viewed/used with multiple programs....

Am now about to buy another imac for myself at work and a macbook pro for the portable...

Cheers

J
