How I made a ??? dollars in a renovation project......twice
Hi all
Don't know where to really start with this as I would like some input from you all about writing my first book, without sounding like I am a braggart or wannabe. I am a property developer who has only been doing it for 4 years. I have just made over $1.3 million dollars in a single property renovation/rejuvenation in 7 months. I have done it before but was worried the first time was luck. Along the way I have made some mistakes, but have also achieved things that the average developer doesn't until many years of experience. I am considering writing a book about why I can do it successfully, including the reasons I make the decisions I do, rather than the actual mechanics of the deals. I have found that when you start talking to people or trying to help them by giving them detail, they either filter it with their own beliefs/ego/experiences and tune out, or try to find fault with what you are doing. If I detail the steps I took, there is a danger that an inexperienced person will try to copy what I have done and fail financially as they have little understanding of the WHY What I am doing is nothing more than anyone out there can do. I believe it has a large part to do with the type of person you are and belief in yourself. It is my intention to write about each step of the way based on why I made a particular decision as related to my personal values and relationships I generate with bankers/tradesmen/real estate agents.. Anyway, my question to you all, is if you could ask someone how they do what they do, would you want to understand it or just copy it? Cheers
