At the risk of sounding like a Homer, (not the poet), I like/love my VetteVert!
Admittedly, I have not owned a stable of sports carsor exotics, though I have had
the pleasure of driving several PCars, a couple of FCars, Z3M, Z4, et al.
Modern performance sports cars are terrific, almost regardless of brand.

I really, really like our Vette:
-Holds 2 sets of golf clubs and enough soft luggage for a week road
trip for two.
-Gets 30+ mpg on most highway trips, during extended cruise...
-Is very fast with brillant accleration, at almost any speed; I have
never had it run out of breath, even in serious triple digits.
-Handles very well; more than my courage, espc. with the Traction
Control computer turned on.
-Almost M'cycle-like with the top down, hauling fanny on our empty
twisties here in the Mtns.
-Excellent gauge panel, very informative secondary gauge readouts,
best HUD on the planet, imo.
-Except for annual oil changes, and a set of new tires at ~28K miles,
I finally spent $1G on it this past winter for more maintenance items, and
an EBCM computer glitch repair. First expenditure in 7 years and 33K miles.
It does not get "babied" or, just driven around the block...
It cost $48Gs out the door, back in May '02.

Not perfect, but a helluva sports/performance/trip/fun car!

Yes, it has a cheezy interior, but I seldom drive any car craning my neck around to
gaze at the "interior". The dough was spent in the engine, suspension, lightweight structure(s), etc.

Yes, it can get warm inside, sitting next to the trans tunnel, on long trips and, the
Borla exhaust can wear my ol'ears out on long cruises.

Yes, it has the Geezer/Rolex image...I admit to both.

The new C6 addresses most of the issues. Yes, it was made by GM, but if you have not driven one,
more than around the block, it is a remarkable, affordable sports car, imo. No arm wrestle; just my opin.

C6, convertible, Z51 pkg...many of the interior appointments critical group will still judge the newer/more leather interior of the C6s,
to be spartan, Malibu-ish, etc. A not invalid criticism, but again, for the dough, the costs were spent on engine, drive train, suspension,
etc., in a reasonably affordable sports car package. But, I will not support an arm wrestle. Some people like Vettes, some people don't.
