Hey Weasel,
I hear you but on the Top Gear site where I also came across this out there mod it mentions that it cost 100,000 pounds (=Au$200k).
Plate my ride The Cupholder – BBC Top Gear So I figure that it's real gold plating possibly ultra thin 1 foot square sheets of gold leaf that are glued into place, something similar to what interior decorators use. But I'm not really sure
