To add another XM story, I just added a radio in response to a promotion offering the "Everything" package at a pretty good discount. My original radio is just the "Mostly Music". The new radio gets added but I can no longer access my account online. I got an error message about selecting a different multi-discount package or something like that. After over an hour on the phone, including hold time, I find out that if my original radio is a lower tier package than the second radio I can no longer access my account online.
I would have to upgrade the original radio to the same higher tier package as the second radio or downgrade the second one to the same as the first. Again, ??? That is some ass-backwards sh!t. Than a second call back to customer service resulted in being disconnected. They had to give me a one month upgrade on the original radio package just so I could log in to see my account details. It makes no sense. Forcing people to call in and use the time of a live body (albeit usually a mental midget) costs them more than if they allowed me to use the online access. XM = STUPID

Haha. When I read the first, this was my first next thought... "wonder if he has dishnetwork?..." Kind of a race to the bottom....satellite radio, cable and satellite TV and cell phones... common thread? Lack of competition, weak regulatory oversight to demand customer service. So all of you that want 'government out of our business', this means 'companies unfettered by government intrusion'.... and the solution of "well if they are so bad an entrepreneur will start up a better service" doesn't work when the start up costs are $6 billion. (Sorry for veering political on ya...) A |

As I posted a while back, I fought through the labyrinth and got myCEO's XM reloaded, in her new Hyundai Tuck,
for another year for that ~$80 deal. Two months go by, all is well, and then we get a 3 times a week mailer begging us to "come back", followed by 2-3 phone calls a week, asking the same. I was polite the first half dozen calls; now I tell them my A/C #, point out we have reloaded, and suggest they go get a gig at MickeyD's, as they are obviously working for an idiot company that can't even id a current customer properly.
