Meiac09 is on a distinguished road
Lets start a iPhone fanboi forum / iPhone 3G Question

So I'm going to Europe for 4 months, and this presents several issues.

1) I need maps with the GPS (locationally retarded)
2) I need my music
3) I need to text (8-12K/month)
4) I need loopt (homing device for, well... those nights)
5) I need facebook.
6) All the other apps I've found for travelling, specifically the train apps
7) I want to tether my computer.
Or else I won't know what to do.

And AT&T charges $249/month for about half my monthly data.

I've solved 3 with a web texting app, and 2 with my old nano, but I was looking online, and SFR has essentially unlimited iphone service on pay as you go for €30/month-ish, and that works. My only issue is that their iPhone is €529/$ A ton on pay as you go, and I already have one. Has anyone unlocked theirs successfully for international use? I REALLY don't want to get there and be SOL with a dead and useless iPhone that won't even work when I come home... TIA...
