Defending the defenseless and having compassion/empathy for animals who are tortured is 2nd nature to most, just because Vick has paid his penance doesn't mean I or anyone else has to forgive and forget, nor change our opinion of his character. It's about the person, not the football player.
Certainly a respectable opinion. Not to confuse anyone I'm not preaching for people to forgive him. I'm simply stating what my views of him are, and my opinion of him as a player and a person. And why atheltes should not be considered role models..

No matter what anyone believes should be the case regarding professional atheletes being role models, they always have been and always will be, regardless of what parents teach their kids. There will be the small % of exceptions where parents ust beat it out of their kids, i.e. don't worship the pros, but those are definitely the exception to the rule for kids who are sports fans. IMO.

I can't wait to see a linebacker (preferably Urlacher) knock Vick's guts out.

Pathetic. Obviously someone doesn't have much of soul...

Condoning the torture of animals is exactly what you are stating here. That their pain is someone how less than ours, IT'S F*CKING NOT AND TO DO WHAT HE DID TO THOSE ANIMALS ISN'T FORGIVABLE TO ME and to somehow minimize it or act like he paid his dues for what he did is pathetic and to me shows exactly what moral fiber (or lack thereof) you have

If you cannot see the difference here, I feel so sorry for you.

One animal is kept in bondage. They are physically and emotionally abused constantly for the rest of it's, most likely short, life.

The other is a victim of the random progression of nature with a usually quick dispatch.

It's simply insulting that people think this way. Simply pathetic. As the owner of an a dog that was abused (I got him from the pound) it physically angers me when people act like animals pain is somehow okay. Not only does it make them look extremely stupid but it also shows just how ignorant they are.

The problem with this though, is that they are and always will be to kids. Nothing mom or dad can say (if they even would) is going to change that.

Right I get you...What i'm saying is this...if you're kid is going to look up to these guys, why not the tons of pro star atheletes who are the good guys? why only the bad ones? And furthermore, to blame an athelete for your kid being a deliquent or numbskull practicing thuggery "because they heard Mike Vick was doing it, so it must be ok" is complete and total nonsense and garbage. THAT is what i'm trying to say.

I hear you. I never said that was the case.
