Hit the MTB trail this morning w/ a buddy and got to ride w/ George W and his security detail. The guy is in great shape and super friendly to everyone that was at the trail. At 8a there were only about five of us though.
I am in the Dallas area now and found out he frequents the trails...

I just got a pair of S Works road shoes, they are a big improvement over my old SDIs.

[QUOTE=E61Silver;775284]I just got a pair of S Works road shoes, they are a big improvement over my old SDIs.

I have the s-works shoes for both mtb and road. I LOVE THESE SHOES!!!! I think that all the specialized bg fit stuff is great. I also use a specialized saddle which I love. I am a raving fan of their stuff!!

One note/recommendation for taking them off. I was told when loosening the boa top strap to pull the cord and help it when it gets slack and stops clicking. As well, I take the top boa strap off its track to take the shoe on/off. When I put it back on I lace the boa strap back on and ratchet it down. I am talking about taking the wire off its track on the non boa side. Lately the top boa on the left shoe isn't making as strong of a ratcheting sound when I tighten it down. I think I will blow it out with some compressed air and see if that helps. Maybe some gunk is in the mechanism?

I have heard about people riding with George W in the mtns. Thats cool you ran into him. The last time I heard of this was a few months back. One of the guys from Niner was setting up a new 29er rig for him. They were out riding in Texas. They said he is pretty good. Do you remember if they were riding on Niners?? I got out in the mtns last week. I am so happy the weather is getting nice!! I did some work on my mtn bike last week. I have avid juicy 7's and I did a brake bleed on them. WOW!!! brakes are feeling real good now. Also put a new chain on and it is shifting crisp!! I am thinking about rebuilding my front fork and rear shock soon.

I have not heard about George W, great to hear he is in shape to ride.

I am not his biggest fan but stories of him hitting the bottle are sad and I hope untrue.

I am using a pair of Nike Lance 2 road shoes, traditional colours, with the Texas flag. They have been great shoes, no deterioration or loose threads over four years of riding now. Very stiff (and thin) full OCLV carbon sole (made by Trek), uppers apparently by DMT. Very good ventilation, which is one of my primary criteria. I like the buckles, as I can adjust them easily while riding. Nike got out of cycling gear when their contract expired with Trek, so these are no longer available. Interesting note that reportedly, two riders in the tour this year used these shoes (Levi and Cavendish). It has been four years since they stopped making them, so there must be a stock pile somewhere. I have other Nike gear (touring shoes with carbon soles and SPD cleats) and it has been good too.

Most of my clothing is Sugoi. Good stuff, high tech, and a local company as well.

I like Performance bib shorts, low cost and as comfortable as my Pearl that cost twice as much.
