We have a habit of pre-rinsing, especially when there's chunks of food stuck to the plate. We don't maschine-wash pots.

Our Dishwasher is a Siemens, works really well.

Pre-rinse, here. I have read the items that says it uses more "energy" for the hot water pre-rinse, but we two are
really pretty low impact, energy consumption-wise, so I am not hand wringing that crap.
It seems to get the major junk off, to allow the DW to clean better, and our dishwasher(s) are not top of any line, both on the Mtn and in FL.

I have read several snippets that suggest "some" food/gunk on the dishes/silverware is rec'd as the DW soap supposedly works better when it has some gunk to attack and "eat", fwiw.

I don't obsess over DW performance, brands, ratings, etc...they all work ok, and for me there are other things to sweat.

I bought I Miele in conjunction with my Wolf Stove, Gaggenau induction top. etc. It was a nice present for me.....

Just let down that for the $ to performance ratio...it really is not like a good 'ole American unit where u load and go. U will not believe how I have to align everything so nothing is blocking it.

I have read the same things about having some ~gunk~ which actually makes the soap work better, etc. Done with it....at some point, when I really get sick of it, it's going out the door or I may move before then. Having not grown up in a household with them, I thought I was the idiot . I even have the thing hooked up to the hot water source even though if I recall, it says cold is fine since it heats the water....

It reminds me of pork roast, and do I love pork roast. But is that tongue as tough as it looks?

Not anymore! I live next to a market and can get a fresh, preservative free sandwich for €3! I'm so not coming back.

I still can't make myself like wine
