I always use the fasteners in the floor whether it's for the carpet or rubber all-weather floor mats in both BMWs. It's the details.........
Whenever I have a loaner, I tend to be a bit obsessive/detailed about it too. Check tyre pressures (usually ends up being low), reposition the floor mats if they're there, etc.... |

I don't believe it would have made much of a difference. From what I read the ES has special technology to prevent transmission damage that makes it so it's a useless thing to do. The only way to shut it off is to hold down a special button for 3 seconds but who would know to do that in a loaner?
