Thumbs up Our X's 8th Birthday...

Actually, it was a week ago, but it finally stopped raining and I took the usual B'day pics. Delivered 9-15-2001, 8-01 build, and currently has
~73,000 miles. It has had very few repairs other than oil, tires, and the usual maintenance items.

Still runs like a top, and with recent new thrust arm bushings and a new set of Michey Diamaris it drives almost like new. It has hauled countless
assorted big loads, 4 geezers w/golf clubs & stuff numerous times, has run us back and forth to NJ/NY dozens of times and, has basically run like
a top through all kinds of weather. One cannot make it "shake its head" regardless of what it comes upon. Knock on wood, but I hope it's around
for its 10th. A very, very capable car, imo. '01 3.0, 5 spd manual, sport, style 132 19s, etc. Thanks for looking!

A fun pic, using slow shutter and "panning" the stationary car.

And, a fun/weird pic...not sure it worked, but different. Thanks for looking!

David, looks like you're taking great care of your X so it'll likely be a teenager before it moves out.

Are those pics taken with your new 40D?

Happy b-day to you X. It still looks great and current. The wheel upgrade gave the old girl some more legs but I still love that E53. People still think my '02 looks hawt.

Ray, yes...the new 40D. I like the cam, it's high quality and loaded with
"stuff", but it doesn't blow me away. Maybe I've become addled and
numb or, I was expecting some giant step in "quality". Not beefing as
it's a fine machine. I sort of miss my old 2 1/4 by 2 3/4 Pentax,my old
Calumet 8x10 view camera, my Minolta 7iX and even my new paper weight
the budget KonicaMinolta 5D, lol!

All shot with the Canon 40D, 17-85mm IS lens, handheld, crummy, foggy
low "light", most "underexposed" a tad, ISO 100, "landscape" button
on for more color sat., etc. No PS, but some were fiddled with in Picasa and/or
Zoom Browser. My long narrow driveway and the very cloudy/foggy weather
up here limited the angles, shots, etc. Thanks, mD

Sweet X5 as always. I love how it doesn't have any of the unnecessary options that break (*cough airsuspensioncough*) and the manual is a plus. Surprisingly mild on the mileage though.....8 years and 73k miles isn't bad.

Matt, it does have the rear air susp., via the Sport Pkg. Has never been a problem.
The list of things glitched/fixed is minimal, and except for maintenance items, the
post warranty & ext warranty pieces R&Rd can be counted on one hand...
knock on freakin wood!

Still looks like the day you brought it home (actually better with the updated rims). Happy Anniversary!!

Hope all is well, md!

Happy birthday to your X

It looks top shape! Just like my 01, 4.4i Although I was not as fortunate as you as to not have alot of issues with the X. I do tend to have issues here and there but I guess after time once you fix the stupid issues, things tend to be okay.
