Only farms and insanely wealthy people! I mean, c'mon, my son's driving a '96 Honda Civic with power nothing! CJ's driving a 3-Series, which he got after his mom took away his X5!!

(Not that there is anything wrong with that, CJ... just trying to put some perspective into the whole situation.)

Funny you should mention farms... My house IS a former farm, at least part of it. My house was built in 1820. It was a farm for many years, and all the surrounding land was cleared for pastures. There were even other houses and buildings around, so we've got the ruins of a small town, with foundations, stone walls, and old roads, in our woods, all overgrown. Our house was eventually turned into a hotel. It was a popular resort for people from as far away as New York. It had a golf course, hiking trails, a ballroom, huge dining room, bowling alley, etc.. There was a large hurricane in 1938, unfortunately. The house was destroyed, except the brick shell of the main house. It was abandoned for a while, and it was known as a haunted house.. Kids from Concord would come up on Halloween. An elderly couple bought the house and restored it. They lived there for a while, and then the husband died. The woman rented out some of the rooms. My parents bought the house in the 1970s and have lived there since. We've added two additions and a barn, and we've made other changes. I love living here because of the history. It's so interesting. And having the woods around means a source of fun and privacy. I love it. I just don't like the climate.

that's about the coolest house story i've ever heard. in my part of the world, there is very little around that is older than 20 or 30 years, and anything over 50 is considered historic.

that is really cool. when you get to be an old fart like me, your kids will think you had the greatest life ever growing up. i think they'll be right.

WOw, that is defiantly a mess. When everything dries up you need to go rent a bobcat and do a little landscaping.

Sounds like you have quite the place CJ. I also live in florida, so the white stuff looks like it would be fun to drive in (well maybe for just a day since I have never driven in snow). I also grew up on a farm. Well, it was a farm until we moved there. So I can relate since we had old homes in the woods as well.

Snow is very fun to drive in, as long as you know how to handle a car in it. Snow isn't fun, though, when you get your car stuck.. Then it's a real pain!
