I see your point, but like you said, plasmas have better color reproduction, deeper blacks, better viewing angles, no motion blur like LCD's can have, etc. Plasma FTW, unless you have a mega brightly lit room or want under 40 inches. Also, just about every review I have read/seen says plasma is more of a cinema viewing experience than LCD. On the other hand, LCD's typically use less energy, run cooler, weigh less and have brighter pictures. Don't forget about the possibility of individual pixels burning out with LCD. I have an LCD TV/computer monitor and it has one or two pixels that have been burned out for a long time.
Maybe plasmas are better at reproducing sub-HD signals because the plasma technology has a broader range capability?
I am not dogging LCD. I have both, I just perfer the benefits of the plasma.
