How so? Mine isn't jail-broken at all. The Camera Roll is just a series of JPEG files on your iPhone from what it looks like. If you sync albums between iPhoto and the iPhone it uses some proprietary Apple iPhoto/iPhone format. It seems that Image Capture can't read that iPhoto/iPhone format.......

Since I haven't JB'ed my iPhone, I have never SSH'ed into it, so I don't know what type of format the photos on his iPhone are in. Depending on the format, he maybe able to export the photos somehow......

Ok I see what you mean. Thanks.
I wasn't aware of the difference
between syncing albums between
iPhoto and the iPhone and the camera
roll. I hadn't done it until today.

something long and .i something.... it opens as a text file and has thumbs. I hate apple with their bullshit at the moment, I called and they said "its due to copyright issues." I can't believe the jailbreaking world hasn't figured something out. I'm sure that for a grand I could have gotten it fixed... I'm a student, I can go through, pick the good pictures and email them 5 at a time while I'm on the train.

I'll let it sit tomorrow and see what I can get out of the encrypted 2 GB photo file, but now I am going to sleep for 5 hours then get a t-shirt at the new apple store.

Like the guy said, it happens more and more. Apple has to cut corners just like BMW does now... Sucks. Used to be a "specialty" product. Sucks worse it happened while i was on vacation so my time machine wouldn't have helped. I did buy a 4 gb memory stick and wont be deleting pics anymore.

Connect your iphone to a pc. Turn off itunes. Go to " my computer", your photos should be on the iphone camera icon

My iPhone fell in the water and wasn't syncing with my computer. I used PhoneView (First the demo, then I purchased it) to pull my pictures, texts, contacts etc off my iPhone.

I really didn't understand what situation your in, but if you are trying to get all your pictures off of your iphone then PhoneView should work.

The issue with this is that the OP is trying
to export photos that he loaded on his
iPhone from iPhoto not photos taken with
the iphone which reside in the camera roll.

I don't believe the option of exporting
photos that have been moved from iPhoto
to iPhone to another computer is a
function of the iPhone.

Also I wasn't aware that exporting photo's from
the phone had anything to do with digital
rights issues. If there's a link for that
I would like to see that information for
references purposes.

As far as getting the photos off the
iPhone it appears that this suggested
application will do the trick.

Ecamm Network: PhoneView - iPhone Disk Mode, Save SMS/MMS, Contacts, Call History
