Pictures of M5 @ Crevier
First impressions....saw the car @ the LA Car show & NY Car show. Of course, Crevier gets the Silverstone with Black interior. Sticker @ $90K (base price around $82K with about $8K of options). Has heads up display, convenience package (keyless entry), active cruise control, rear sunshades, multifunction seats, etc.
Comparing with our E46 M3, the interior looks quite bland, especially the black interior. The brushed aluminum trim does little to brighten things up. Again, you think that they would have put higher-quality interior trim....maybe if you get the extended leather package it will look richer. It seems like the the E46 M3 interior looks more "richer" looking and with having cinnamon interior, it brighten things up.
The SMG paddles on the M5 steering wheels are "beefier" and wider than the E46 M3 SMG paddles. The M5 SMG paddles are more ergonomic. The "+" and "-" symbols light up white when the headlights are on....The M5 SMG shift knob is illuminated. I miss the orange display in the speedometer cluster, though the needles are red, though the numerals are white. Notice that in the speedo, 80-200 mph numerals are really clustered together.
Also, outside of the M5 looks very stealth. Except for the exterior mirror, side grill, and rear spoiler, the M5 looks quite similar to the 5-series.
There is NO spare tires....like the E46 M3, it has the M-mobility system. No runflats tires. The hood feels like it is aluminum like the E46 M3.
Kirk in Rancho is getting a 550i and to be honest, a 550i with sports package is probably a great deal (about $65K) and probably more than fast enough for a car that size. In fact, the 550i is approaching the E39 M5 hp/torque.
