Because I like to drive at speed...
In CT, I find that Ka band is mostly used. On my colorized V1, that is blue. So when I see that blue light, I know that there's bogeys up ahead (or behind depending on the arrows). I have seen very little use of laser in New England (but it might be that I'm not traveling far enough from home). |

In CT state police use mostly laser (LTI system) while local cops use K and Ka band radar.
