If you live in an area where RDs are illegal and Spectre is used, then the V1 is not an viable option. The RedLine is the best performing windshield mounted RD you can buy that is invisible to Spectre. This is by far the best reason to choose the RedLine over the V1.... but if you live or drive in states where RDs are legal then the redline is probably not worth the extra coin...ALSO even if u use the redline in states where RDs are illegal then u still have to be careful where u mount it.... virginia cops will hunt u down if they get a visual on it..

The 9500CI truely will out preform the V1 in most cases.... i do mostly city driving so i use the 9500ix in my vehicles with the gps locator to filter out previous false alarms and store old speed traps

If u really want to monitor who is monitoring your speed then also consider a laser interceptor system...we recently installed a quad LI system on two of my cars and and did some of our own tests using 3 different guns...the guns were jammed to the gun on both cars... also the laser interceptor will notify u what model/make gun the cop is using..... fun stuff...if u are speeding and pick up the laser alarm then i usually slow down and then turn the system off.. this allows the cop to get a reading of your now legal speed so he does not get pissed off... tho the LI system is legal in most states

I have heard of the LI system and the blinder jammer as well. The M5 guys have discussed it a few times. I have been serious contemplating getting one because of how much time I spend behind the wheel. But 1100 bucks for the Quad system is a lot. I would get the Quad because in WA they shoot you from behind. It's tempting... I figured I would do it when I get my M5

We need to get some good stuff like this in Australia, the revenue boys in blue are collecting all to often. we are now up against digital laser radar and they dont give any leeway of + or - 10% anymore, if you are 1klm over the limit you get booked no questions asked.

Interesting. I'm in the market since my V1 finally started acting up after years of great service. I was leaning toward the Passport 9500ix but I'm going to hold off and check out this Redline. The 9500 is cool, packed with features but the one major feature (red-light cameras and photo radar) are far and few in between here in Northern California. I'm guessing the Redline gives more warning than the 9500 for the simple fact they are made by the same company making the claim. I don't mind a false alert every now and then if it picks up all the real threats. My V1 does poorly on LIDAR which is used along with Laser and Ka in my parts. Pretty weak on Laser as well but strong on Ka and K band. I shut of X band which filters 90% of the false alarms because not many X band guns being used these days.
