Never used that lens, but it's very very wide and you could get some distortion. Did you look at the 17-40L also? The 17-40 is my every day lens.

I was thinking on getting the 17-40l but I wanted something wider and yes the distortion that it can produce scares me a bit since I’m not good photography and I need all the help I can get from any of these lens
