I do have therapy scheduled tomorrow and have a cervical cortizone epidural scheduled as well (in 2 damn weeks). But looking at the MRI it doesn't look like the cortizone shot can offer much help... My C5 is compressed with a small hemhorage at the spinal chord, my C6 is the main issue that has a solid hold on the nerve into my left arm, and the C7 is also compressed and is getting close to doing the same to the right side. So 2 of the problem discs can be made better with the traction and shots while one will need a posterior cervical foramenotomy to add clearance for the nerve passage... what sucks is that it is in the upper spine at the shoulders so it puts pain in the arms and took half the stregnth from mt left arm... so I can't even do "light duty" work until it is fixed. It would actually be easier for me if it was a lower back problem where I could still at least turn wrenches.

So sorry to hear about this. I have had a variety of ortho operations in the past few years, with the last one just a few months ago. I can sympathize with your distress! I hope you get it taken care of quickly and completely.

Get well soon!!! Now you have made me nervous. I have been having lower back pain for years. I have taken multiple x-rays and have seen discs beginning to wear. I realise you are in far worse shape than by back is now, but my best solution has been to stretch my leg muscles. I'm the least flexible person I know
 . Whenever my leg muscles get too stiff, they pull against my back and make it sore as hell!!! Anyway; good luck

Sorry to hear about your pain and suffering. I hope the docs and surgeons can get you back to normal ASAP. Do whatever you have to do, the Outpost will always be here.
There's no reason you should have to wait 2 weeks for that cortisone epidural! There must be some way to pull some strings and get in quicker. Get on them like a fly on sh&t.

1stE53, I've been there before with the tight hamstrings, that helped cause my knee problems in the past... all you can do for it is stretch/exercise. (I started cycling more often to keep the legs and all in better shape) I plan on getting a canoe or kayak after this is all said and done (planned on doing soon anyways) to help out with the upper body. (I'm an outdoorsy guy, but not a gym kinda guy)
And Stan, you're forgetting about a couple holidays down here that actually have schools and businesses closed coming up... Mardi Gras and the Saints in the superbowl! (schools etc. closed 1 day for the superbowl, 2 days if we win!) And we called at least a dozen offices that can do that injection and the 19th was the soonest that was available, which oddly enough was with the better of the available doctors! Oh well, I need some sleep... my first traction therapy is tomorrow. Oh, and the topping on the cake, short term disability is only gonna fork out $500 per month! My bills are about double that right now, not including the tool trucks!
