Unhappy Damn this sucks...!

Well, starting last thursday my neck/left shoulder/left arm got tight, like a pinched nerve. Didn't feel like a muscle locked up with a nerve as I've had that before, and a quick visit to my chiropractor and his tens unit cured it... But not this time. My chiropractor did some poking and prodding and said the muscles are all fine and it seems like a disc problem, great.

So I go to a brain and spine neurologist/neurosurgeon (one of the best in the country) and had some quick x-rays taken, they show some spaces in the spine closer than they should be... Have an MRI, and that confirms it. I have 3 bad discs in my cervical spine! Only one of them is causing my current problem though,(pinching the nerves to my left arm) and there is a minimally invasive surgery to remedy the situation. But the other 2 are compressed with minor hemorrhaging of the discs.

So I've been out of work since last Thursday, can't go back in any time soon... So now I have to burn up all my vacation time to have the money to pay bills until my short term disability kicks in, then just hope that is enough to pay bills until I can get back to work in a few months! Damn life sucks sometimes!

So here I am, at the age of 28... Already had knee surgery, recently had tonsils/adnoids out, and now have a back problem requiring surgery on my spine! Ain't life grand? If it weren't for the vicodin the pain would be completely unbearable.(and I really don't like narcotic pain pills!) and they had me try lyrica... had all the side affects without any of the desired affects! Still had all the pain but with the added affects of dizzyness, loopyness, lightheaded, etc. That was a rough night.

Sorry for the rambling rant, but I just had to vent for a bit. And if I'm not on the forum for a few days at a time, this is why! I can't comfortably sit at my main computer, but can occasionally get in a comfortable position with my laptop.

Tough news, Weasel...
hope the surgery is successful and
you heal quickly; youth has some advantage.

For all the great info you post here, maybe we
should organize a Net-a-Thon for you!
Good Luck, mD

That really is unfortunate. Don't worry, you'll have a speedy recovery. You're still young.
