First the Scirocco GT then the Scirocco GT TDI now the VW Polo GT

Why won’t Volkswagen bring these cars to USA ?

Because the US market is seen as an unwanted stepchild. Same reason Xenon headlights are not available for most VWs. I saw a Honda CRV on a South African website with factory Xenons while NO Honda sold in the US is available with Xenons. Canadian VW TDIs have an auxiliary electric heater- not available in the US-not even in the northern US in a cold weather package.

Is it not coming to the USA or delayed for a year or so?

VW seems to wait a year or so before bring the new models to the USA.
I can't imagine that a GTI will not be sold in the USA?

We're not willing to pay for well-built, well-equipped small cars. Your average American consumer would rather buy a less-equipped midsize sedan than a well-equipped compact sedan for $22k. The US market believes bigger = better, and that's not going to change and nor is the small car market. Learn to accept the fact.

The Mini does not support your concept.

The Mini is the exception rather than the rule, and you have to hand it do the marketing folks who marketed the Mini as hip and cool. If it didn't have the brand support, it would be undoubtedly be less successful.

I really liked the Saturn/Opel Astra when it was introduced for one year but it was pricey compared to other small cars like the Chevrolet Cobalt and the other Korean entries. I think the upcoming Ford Fiesta will be initially popular but I doubt it will be profitable after the initial batch of Fiestas are sold.

And let's be honest, how many folks do you know, when given $26k, would rather buy a well-optioned midsize sedan or entry SUV versus a VW hatchback?
