Cool thread... you guys had some cool stuff..

My dad gave me a POS '77 olds Omega 4-door. I sold it for, I think, $800 the first week I had it. I added a little to that and bought an abused '76 Camaro LT with a 305ci motor and 120k miles. Blew it up in a month or two, then had a 355ci/TH350 built by an old local hot rodder stuffed in it.

Same guy did the motor, trans, and rear end on the 84 Z28 as well (2nd car) almost a year later. The 700r4 trans was converted to a TH400 with a 2800 stall and the crap 3.07 rear was converted to a 4:11 posi. I was 18 or 19 and worked at a speed shop and was quickly becoming very addicted. Every dime went into the car, bet some of you can relate.

3rd car was a '73 Firebird with a 400, I attempted to rebuild that one myself. Don't know where those pics are. Anyway, that one didn't work out too well! The crank somehow was 7 degrees off and it spun like an orbital buffer! Then my brother and I had a '67 Camaro all OEM that we drove to hell and back before it burned to the ground. Then I switched to 5.0 Mustangs and Corvette's and that's when all the real need-4-speed trouble began.

Currently trying to convince my wife it is time to get another toy car to play with... miss wrenching on them.

My first car was a 1982 Ford Capri 2.8 V6 160 bhp.In 1984 I had installed by the wizards of TURBO TECHNICS in Northhampton, Beds, U.K.,a twin turbo kit with dual boost control 210/250 Bhp.
This car was made by Ford Germany in Cologne.

I was in the service in Germany, and I bought this 1979 Nissan three-door hatchback. Can't remember the name, but it was not a bad little car.

Here we go... found a pic. Mine was white, and in a little better shape, but this was it.

I purchased my first car when I was 17 and in high school. It was a brand new 1999 Mercury Cougar. It was actually a good car, never had any problems when I sold it at 55k miles. White, V6, VERY quiet interior at highway speeds, manual trans.

My first ride was a 1952 Ford Coupe, flathead V8, "three on the tree". Bought it in late 1963 for $300 which was Big fooking dough then!

Looked almost like the pics I copped from the net, though it's condition was not nearly this good looking. Burned oil like crazy; I used to stuff a couple of peeled bananas down the oil fill tube to "increase viscosity" and slow the oil consumption,

My first "going all the way" ride, too: the Oak Drive-In just off Woodward Ave., outside Detroit. :p

My first was a 1966 Ford Mustang coupe, 289 C.I. V8 with automatic C4 transmission. I loved that car.

I still have a 1965 Mustang GT Convertible in the garage that I've had since 1979 with 45,000 original miles.
