It's hockey season!

There must be some hockey fans around here. How excited are you about the upcoming season? What about those free agent signings? I can't keep track of who went where. It was a good prediction that when the new CBA went into effect that nobody should by a team jersey with a name on the back unless it was on with Velcro. I know there are some new rules too. What changed?

My Canucks are believed by some sports outlets to be making a Cup run. Three games into it I'm not yet convinced.

Far too early to talk about runs for the cup, IMO. Sedins are playing well, the C suits Daniel. Bobby Lou can keep more focused on his goaltending now. A couple of good trades for the Canucks, haven't figured out too many other team's trades yet.

Edmonton shamed Calgary, that is always fun to watch.

I love the pre-season predictions. If we believed them we'd have marched down Robson Street with a trophy by now. The Canucks are looking good. The Twins are great as usual and yes, it was a great choice for the C. Luongo is looking much less dramatic and more efficient than before. Acrobatic saves are entertaining but they lead to injuries and I think, are a sign of poor positioning. Of course not always but many of those saves should be made more quietly. (Like I'm an expert. )

I'm liking Malhotra so far and I hate to admit Raffi Torres too. I'll try to watch as much as I can but all I get is Kings and Ducks coverage and the cable company wants insane money for the hockey package so I refuse to give in. I sometimes catch games on justin.tv's hockey channels for free.

I'm a Blackhawks fan (grew up in Chicago)--lost some good players but we still should be great. And I go in on Stars season tickets here---they are a surprise so far--looking good as well. Both teams are in 1st place--still way too early though.
