I have seen the e-cig work for two people who had been smoking for over 40 years each. It isn't exactly cheap, but you may need to use it less often after a while and hopefully not at all after some time. Plus, it is healthier for you and everyone else around you than a traditional cig.

While I would imagine the e-cigs aren't as bad for everyone else around them, there is still a puff of smoke emitted from it...concentrated vs a huge puff? I don't know enough about them.

The e-cigs emit a non-harmful water vapor, not smoke.

The person using an e-cig inhales nicotine vapors, not sure how much comes back out into circulation when the user exhales. I guess you can also get non-nocotine liquid as well these days. I have been around people using them and I have not been bothered with any smells or anything. I am not eactly sure how it works, but I think since it is a vapor, it dissipates rather quickly. Also, the e-cig only produces the vapor when the person inhales though, so there is no cancer stick sitting there burning and smoking up the room. There is no actuall smoke with the e-cig. There is a heater element in the device that heats up the liquid nicotine and converts it into a vapor when the user inhales. These things are still being tested by gov't and health agencies.

right, from what i have read the gov't health agencies are most concerned with the concentrations and consistency of the products, the one i bought makes the cartridges in the US, not imported from china. there are two types one has Propylene glycol, which is a water based ingredient found in many health products and medicines. None of the ingredients in the cartridges have been found to be toxic to humans and are used in lots of other products like inhalers. they make high, med, low and no level nicotine cartridges.

the starter kits come with med, i will buy a low nicotine package or two (should last me a few weeks) and then a no package.

nicotine is not good in large doses. small doses are another story. there are all kinds of studies about nicotine... i just gotta stop smoking camel lights.

I hope it works for you. Like I said, I have personally seen two very heavy smokers pretty much never touch a traditional cigarette again after really giving the e-cig a chance. Good luck!
