clean bill of health

got good news & good news - my heart is back in rhythem & BP still low enuf not to require medicine - so my trip east is ON! - leaving Sat AM

When I get back here in Dec, I am going to look into gastric bypass surgery to help get rid of the 140+lbs I've been carrying too long - Hard to believe I ever fit into an A4 Skyhawk! - tried diet & exercise with a personal trainer but hit a wall at +100lbs - I am fortunate to be 6'4" with a big bone structure to carry the weight & not to have the problems associated with overweight - I've always carried extra weight, except when the Navy had me down to skin n ribs - even then I was 210lbs - really have to do something before it's too late - hit 56 in 12 days - want alot more birthdays to come.

Hopefully, I'll get a chance to see some of you along the way - may not get on the internet untill I get back - In the meantime, y'all have a happy, healthy, safe holiday season

Good luck with both the trip and the weight loss. Consider "lap banding" surgery, as another option besides the gastric bypass. A surgeon friend of mine is doing those, and getting excellent results.

Mark,

Glad to hear that you've gotten a clean bill of health. I'll shoot you an email later tonight with my contact info and address. Feel free to give me a call when you're in the area, and maybe we can do coffee/drinks/dinner - whatever your schedule allows. I have a pretty flexible schedule!

Juan

Sorry I haven't replied sooner - between my laptop and cell phone ,I 'm about ready to start passing out soup cans and laying string - breezed right by you Motordavid on I26 - will most likely be going that way if the roads are clear of snow - Murphy's Law - 1st time in 4 years I'm not wearing snow tires - will try to hook up on the way back

I got to meet Juan on my way from Atlanta to NJ - He is really great , as are all of you who chipped in and help mount his new steering wheel - he couldn't wait to show it off - Hopefully I'll make the next Meet.

Have passed a number of X5s in the NJ/Conn area - Have given polite waves so any of you noticing a blue X5 driven by a large man in a bright Hawaiian shirt , That's me.

Am heading back to SC in another week to see my realtor - Looking for a townhouse with a garage with closing in March-May time period - not too many around Charleston as I hoped - only 1 available as we speak ... er, read? - then it's avoid the snow to get back home - This is why I'm looking for an east coast home, so I can fly over the snow storms and tornados between SC & ID

Thank you all for your kind thoughts and help - I hope I get a chance to meet with you all

Keep up the good spirits, it really helps. Surgery can be a very scary thing, we are with you. Good luck.
