Damn Pete, that is a gorgeous car!! I drove the 645i convertible at the Susan B.Komen event and fell in love with it. I'm jealous. That is one sweet new engine in there as well. I can't wait to see the pictures.

Speaking of that engine...Is there any relation between the 4.8L used in the 7, 6 and X5 4.8is?

The engine in the 6 and 7 is identical, but is it the same as the 4.8is? I know the X5 has 355hp, as opposed to 360 in the 6 and 7...but still...

Someone want to shed some light on this issue?

It's the same engine, but tuned a little bit differently for the 550i, 650i, 750i, and 4.8is. The same engine in the 4.8is gives you 369 lb-ft instead of just 360 lb-ft in the rest. Horsepower is 360hp across the board, except in the 4.8is where it is only 355hp.
