Check out the blackberry app store. The core apps are there but obviously the device is new, so there aren't 100,000 apps like on ipad or android, they're expecting a huge influx of apps in a month or so when RIM releases the "app-player" sw. But again, quality over quantity is always better. Also, the browser on the playbook is damn fast, and if there's an app that someone needs now, they can probably just get the info via the browser.

The playbook does have a Facebook app, and uhhh, the ipad doesn't And the playbook has flash, and USB, and front and rear HD cameras.

One other thing, I can type on it while holding it in both hands in landscape mode and type with my thumbs. Just like every other Blackberry product lol

I am an iPad 1 and 2 fan but I do hope there is good competition in this segment. Competition will only make things better. I haven't seen the Playbook yet though. I think it'll live or die on the apps BB gets. It is a bit unfortunate it does not have native email support other than BB. The iPad email isn't perfect but it's nicer than having to rely on webmail.

That, IMHO, is an important trait. iPad is nice, but for desk or lap usage. The Playbook seems to be the larger phone/tablet that can be used without the 'holding' issue...

How is the weight and feel? Is it balanced?

It feels very solid, not heavy, but solid. And yes, it's balanced. I can hold it in both hands and my thumbs reach the appropriate areas on the keyboard.
