Simple answer,
Every site has forum rules. I didn't make the rules but I find that many new members are taking advantage of the site as if its some sort of classified Flea market. That being the case it only seems fair that if you want to sell
Something one needs to pay for the prevlidge and that's what the site rules require.

Many moderators don't bother, but you feel the need to start a new thread and bump it.... Comment in threads only to issue the warning.... Hmmmmm

Same reason why normal people enforce laws of their country... Like calling in a crime..

Leave him alone, it does really bother me when people try to sneak in their for sale threads when the rules are clearly stated. This forum provides us with enough money saving tips that the nominal amount it costs to become a premier member shouldn't matter.

I'm with QS on this, some things just really bother people, and they'd like to help out in enforcing it.

This site doesn't run on it's own. Compared to most forums, I think you will find the amount of advertising to be a minimum and non-intrusive to the experience. One of the ways that we are able to keep this board afloat is through the give back to the community via the voluntary Premier Membership. And the cost? About 1/3 the cost of a tank of gasoline.

If someone has items to sell and doesn't want to become a Premier Member then there are plenty of other places to do so on the internet at little to no cost. eBay, Criagslist, etc are all out there and get the job done.

Barry has been around since the inception of this site. I've been to his house and I've had dinner with him and his lovely wife. They are great people. As a friend, I appreciate that he encourages everyone to play by the rules and not circumvent the principles. Enough said.
