Which 1080P security cameras do you have?

Costco has a few but they all seem to be cheap without a very good picture and no 1080P I don't mind paying extra for a good quality system. 4 camera Wireless is fine But a wired system can work if I can access video on all my Apple devices. A 64 GB card access a must and I don't want to have to subscribe to a company cloud service. Any thoughts?

How much money you want to spend? Are you just looking at network based/wifi or coax?

I have used Panasonic, Sony, Foscam, D-link, Geovision
All good cameras have iPhone/iPad apps for remote access.
Costco cameras are good if you want camera-security-in-a-box solution.

How much? Depends on how reliable the system is and if it's true 1080P 30fps. I would like a clear video not choppy. It would be nice if it were networked but if there's a clear coax system that's easy to set up and networked that would be acceptable also.

Check offerings built on the ZWave protocol. I have recently begun playing with it. As I type in fact, I am having two ZWave-enabled thermostats installed. They have cameras, thermostats, light switches, 110v plugs, and even LED light bulbs. It's a larger home automation protocol, but you can do some nifty things with it.

Well... I haven't really *used* one to tell you about, but they have options that appear close to the ones above, just with ZWave communication added.

Here's a pretty good site that has a lot of the devices for sale. Their prices arent the best, but they're a good spot to get part #'s from. You would need a ZWave gateway to connect and interface with your chosen devices. A camera is just one of many things you can use.

My thermostats are in and are communicating with ZWave. I can now start adding logic to their operation. Should be fun.

You don't need cloud service or SD card if you can dedicate a PC in your home for recording. There are plenty of recording software you can buy. They will record locally. Blue Iris is one of them and works with most security cameras.
Amazon.com: Foscam Blue Iris Professional Surveillance Software - Up to 64 Cameras, SMS/Text Message Alerts, H.264 Encoding, Supports most major IP Camera brands and CCTV Systems: Computers & Accessories

QS- The foscams are cheap, decent cameras. I've setup a couple of friends/relatives with these as baby nanny cams, and they make AWESOME nanny cams given the application at hand.....Run the viewer on iphones and ipads, and the features you get is SOO much better than a regular baby cam.

Back on topic, I would check out any of the Dahuna / Q See offerings and take it from there. Dahuna makes awesome camera for the $. You just need to figure out the DVR side....as their software/implentation is a lil wonky with 3rd party at times.
