Zen w/ Aux only

I have a Zen, but only use Aux cable in the X5. I am not aware of any full featured interface for the Zen like they have for the iPod. If there was such an interface supported by Creative Labs, you would see other products (desktop docking startions, etc.) already using it.

With the Aux only, does it show up on the on board computer. Song titles, artists, etc.

Absolutely not. The Aux connector is a preamp 'headphone like' type of connection. It transfers sound, that is the only thing it does. You will be able to use your steering volume controls though

You know what, I've got some pull. I am going to contactive Creative Labs about this right now. I've got a Zen and I want to do the same thing with mine in the X.

Hello. You can use AUX input or you can also go for FM transmitter.
For example Belkin Tunecast II or Tunecast
There are a lot of other vendor offering same stuff.

No Interface..... No Luck!!!

The Zen (and most other MP3 players) lack the full featured s/w interface to support external devices like the BMW dashboard display, etc. It would be great if they (the industry) could create a standard interface using the exisitng USB connection for power, audio and control functions.
