Glad to be of help and I'm glad that you found one! Next time I'm in the market for a new Glock, I might join the GSSF like you did. That seems like a pretty sweet deal.

Yeah Eric i think its worth it! Caveat is you have to do a 2 year membership ($60) to get a discount coupon up front, and then you get another one in a year. If you only sign up for yearly, they don't send you discount coupon until you renew.

GSSF/Blue Label pricing isn't bad at all either, G43 can be had for $380! $425 for the 19/26 and I think the .40 caliber models as well, pricing is on the website if you ever want to refer to it

Holy friggin crap TiAg -

You weren't kidding about the PPQ.

So long story short I have a last pistol permit burning a hole in my pocket. I love my Glock and want to add a 19, but at the same time I know in 10 months I can get a Blue Label 19 with my GSSF discount for $120+ less ($425) what I can buy for now.

So I thought how about a fuller sized 9mm striker fired range toy / Home defense gun.

H&K VP9 and Walther PPQ came to mind so I had to check out both at my LGS

VP9 is great, out of the box with the medium straps it felt good in the hand - I have small hands so for a better grip I'd prob switch out the side panels and backstraps for the small. Smooth trigger, felt very similar to my Glock. Reset was crisp. I like the factory steel luminescent sights. The only thing I'm not huge on is the paddle mag release. If I had bigger hands it would be less of an issue, a slight rotation on grip to drop with my thumb, but it's not feasible with my hand size. I need to use my index or middle finger of my trigger hand to drop it smoothly without rotating grip to much. Solid weight in the hand, definitely a nice pistol.

PPQ = WOW. WHAT A TRIGGER. feels nothing like my Glock but both are great in their own ways. Glock's trigger is smooth, predictable, and stays constant throughout their lineup. The PPQ is totally different but I love it. Light with just enough takeup and so crisp. Wow.

Ergonomics for my small hands - out of the box with the medium backstrap my hands feel right at home on the grip - I don't even know if I'd switch the small backstrap. The mag release button is easily reached without shifting my grip at all! Something I couldn't say for my Glock out of the box (I put a Vickers Tactical extended mag release on it which rounds it out and puts the hump closer towards the back of the grip just enough to be easy to press)

Ambi slide release which is a plus. Lighter than the VP9 with an empty mag and a touch shorter in height and length of the pistol as well.

I think I've made up my mind. Glock 19 next year with my discount (I am proud to carry my G26 out of state and when I move, in the meantime, it's perfect for that) - but I think I will be getting a PPQ with my next permit and if the .45 is any indication of the 9mm, I'll be getting one of those as well to join my 1911 at some point. What an amazing pistol for the price ($590 at my local LGS)

Well worth spending the extra $50 that I would pay for a full price G19 IMO. Now I know why Hickok45 has such a conundrum with it even though he (and I) is a Glock guy.

No doubt, an out of the box/production gun has no right to have a trigger that good.

I would expect the PPQ trigger after a Walther master gunsmith did a custom trigger overhaul.

I also found the PPQ 45 to be one of the most forgiving handguns when it comes to "high hits" on target after long range sessions (weak hand muzzle rise). Could be the grip design, fits the hand great.

Your problems are good ones to have.

I think that if it were my money, I'd go with the PPQ or find a long slide Glock 34 (or ported G34-C). Either of those would be fun shooters!

Thanks for the PM Eric - I sent a few price requests out, I would be totally happy with another Glock (19) but the PPQ just seemed so much fun to hold and would be fun to shoot - a little big so I probably wouldn't carry it, but I'd also rarely carry the 19 as well (maybe in winter)

Will let you guys know how I do

Paging TiAgX5 - PPQ 45 for $549 @ Buds right now - less than the 9mm! None of the LGS's around me stock the 45, not sure if yours do - not a bad deal even if you put it on a Visa @ $566

Thanks RB.

That's the lowest I've seen it anywhere.

I doubt it will go any lower, ordering tonight!

Agreed! I'm on Buds quite often shopping, just 2 days ago it was $600!

Hope you lock in the good deal, not sure what TX dealers charge for a transfer, here in NJ its about $25-30 + the $15 NICS - even at that price its still a smoking deal!

I have a friend (CEOs former co-worker) who opened a custom AR retail operation last year. No transfer fee, only paying NCIS check fee.
