Yeah I saw the SSguiderods part - I also like this one, nice and stealthy black cap from the muzzle, looks OEM and uses a factory spring -

Just get a PSA and rebarrel it and you will be well below that, or build one up, parts are cheap right now.

There are a lot of less expensive optics out that are perfectly capable that will cost you less than a grand including a decent QD mount, even less if you use standard rings.

Leupy low mag Vxr's, Vortex Vipers and Strike Eagle, Burris MTAC, Bushnell XTR, etc.

But yeah, plus suppressor and tax stamp and it starts to get pricey lol.

I'm getting that itch again - maybe HK VP9 this go around or just buy the Glock 19 I've been wanting -

What will the primary use be RB?

Seeing the price range you're looking at, a little more can get you a Sig P320 RX (with reflex optics). A bargain in the $800 price range....

Trying to keep it under $700 (the VP9 is max budget at $675) - primary use would be range and HD, until I move out of New Jermany being a CCW is a pipe dream as you know - VP9 would be a bit much for me to carry, but G19 being a bit more compact I could.

I would consider a G19 MOS - good call on an optics ready pistol - the Sig P320 has been scarce from distributors lately and in local gun shops too, and to be honest I don't know why, if its supply chain issues, etc (I remarked on this a few pages back in regards to their interchangeable "grip modules" for the modular P320 system)

Here's the caveat - I have a gift card to my range/LGS with about $165 remaining on it - my range's Glock prices are good, right around normal market, but the VP9 prices are about $100 higher than other LGS in the area.

So I could use the rest of the gift card toward a G19 and be out the door for about $400-500 depending if I got an MOS version, or just keep it for range time and buy a VP9 or other pistol from a different gun shop -

I've been on a 9mm kick lately as you can tell - however I know you're a Sig guy and if the P320 Compact would ever come back in stock in 45 ACP I would definitely get it - I like the modular platform and would be awesome to be able to convert it to Subcompact too (like 2 45's in one!)

Yeah, that's a tough position to be in with a good price and a gift card for a gun you want (at an LGS).

I'm one of those people who looks at/read reviews/shoots what's I like in my price range, decide on a firearm, then look at what another 25% can get me.

If I keep doing it, it will get me bleeding ulcers.

Why not go for the AR we talked about before? Should get one while the getting is good.

^It's an election year, that is in the plans as well right now LOL

I'm heading to NC in a week and a half and plan on stopping in Cabela's on the way back home, in Delaware - nice thing is NICS is included in the price and no sales tax in DE on firearm purchases (obviously I can only purchase long guns out of state) so I should be owner of an evil black rifle soon enough - and as always Eric you were very helpful with my million questions!

Just wanted to put the Sig P320 RX on your radar RB.

This package (P320, Romeo1Red reflex site, high night sites (for co-verification & back-up if electronics fail), and slide machining (around $150), would cost around $1300.

Sig putting the RX together in house saves around $500.

As I'm sure you know, a reflex site on a semi-auto pulls around 8000 Gs of force when fired, these sites pull around 200 Gs on a 5.56 AR rifle.

Sig had to design this sight much stronger then AR units.

^^Sharp looking RX model TiAG - I know you're a Sig guy so maybe you have some input, not sure if you are on Sig Talk, etc -

Can Sig not keep up with demand for P320 or are they just slow in production? I know Glock was awarded the FBI contract so I'd expect them to have some pistols out of stock, it seems like the P320 has either parts (grip modules) backordered, caliber X-change kits backordered, or actual pistols -

There have been a handful of 9mm Compact's available locally lately, I mean like 1 or 2 at a time, and then the LGS's don't get more and can't order more for a month or two at a time. And like I said the .45ACP Compact is perpetually out of stock as I've been checking for a while now.

Thats the only thing that makes me hesitant about the platform, is the sparse availability - I'd love a P320 .45ACP Compact and get the Subcompact X-change kit for it down the line (2 pistols in one almost), but the seemingly sparse availability worries me.

Again, it could just be high demand which I'm not aware of -
