Yup leaning that way, and I'm pretty brand-loyal

Yeah Sig makes good stuff. Is the reason you can't carry your 226 because it's too big and heavy?

Precisely, it's too big and heavy (in my opinion). I've definitely heard of people carrying full size but I don't think I want to go that route.

Makes sense. I carry a Glock 27 and sometimes even just a NAA mini revolver for that reason.

Between those options, the 320 is going to be considerably lighter being it has a plastic frame.

A couple more options for you that will have same manual of arms that you're used to or are striker fired:

Sig M11 (or P228/P229) is basically a compact version of the 226.

Sig 227 (compact .45)

Glock 19/23

Glock 26/27

Smith & Wesson M&P (the shield can be had for under $300 right now after a rebate).

Agreed, both are good pocket guns. I like the Sig 938 better than the G43 but neither is a bad choice.

Smaller in summer for sure -

How big of a guy are you Cleanisfast?

I'm 5'7" 190 athletic build and not zombiefied about occasional printing so in the summer I would be IWB under a T-shirt - Glock 26 Gen4 right now, but I also have a Taurus 605 2" barrel revolver if I wanted to carry a wheelgun (which I'll admit isn't too often, I reach for my Glocks) -

I may be adding a Glock 43 in a few months (I get a Blue Label discount from GSSF membership around end of May each year) as the single stack is just a bit easier in summer, not by much - In winter I'd have no problem with my Glock 19 Gen4, but I wouldn't go larger than that, personally -

Sig P320 is great choice, I assume you mean the 15+1 Compact? The Carry has a Full Size grip length and 17+1 capacity, and the P320 is just a hair larger than a Glock 19 in the Compact configuration if you put them side by side -

Great pistol though, I'd also look into the P320 Subcompact if you can find it in 9mm as its a bit bigger than a Glock 26 and is 12+1 very respectable capacity - small grip is very slim as well -

Now Sig keeping magazines, different size grip frames etc in stock is a whole other thread that belongs on SigTalk.....

5'11 - 185-190lb

Yes the Sig P320 Compact/Carry which is 15+1. Subcompact grip looks too tiny in my opinion. I've held the P320 Carry and it just feels good and something that I could carry versus my 226 which is heavier and bigger.

Just not a fan of Glock, I actually have a full size Glock 17 and never use the damn thing. Sits in the case, I barely even use it at the range. Not a fan of the grip, plastic feel, potential slide bite, etc

Ok so the 15+1 is the Compact -

17+1 with Compact slide, and Full size grip length is the "Carry" - which is a stupid name for it anyway as its not a CCW size at all IMO as the grip sticks out the most - they should rename it to "Duty", would make it easier -

Not going to get into a Sig vs. Glock pissing match but is your 17 a Gen4? Lot of improvements over the Gen3 in my opinion -

Pistols and guns are subjective, what feels good in the hand for one person doesn't feel good for another -

But unless you have gorilla hands I wouldn't worry about slide bite, and they do provide beavertailed backstraps for your G17 Gen4 if you do - and that low bore axis is what makes Glock such a soft shooter -

Full disclosure I am a believer in the Glock "perfection" so I may be a bit biased but I also own a P320 Compact (in 45ACP so 9+1), PPQ in 9mm, and recently purchased a VP9 so I appreciate all the different striker pistols in their own right (except for an M&P, that pistol does absolutely nothing for me)

Yeah definitely not trying to get into a debate of glock vs sig haha. But I hear you.

Glock 17 is Gen 3

And the 320 I was looking at is the Carry size. Grip length looked smaller than the normal size one though? Grip length was in between the Full size and the sub-compact. Unless they have Full, Carry, Compact, Subcompact???

I like the idea of a .45 ACP P320
