Nice choice.

The full size P320 45acp was in the running when I picked up the PPQ 45, RX pkg would have put it in my collection.

Now that we are seeing the results of the ex-Kimber execs getting control at Sig (and changing the business model & structure/production controls/vendor requirements, oversite), surface finishes flaking off chambers after a few 100 rds, premium prices for CereKote slide finishes that wear off after ONE DAY of going in and out of Kydex holsters (due to old product usage, this stuff has to be used within a few weeks after production, or lack of oversite/verification the application process is adhered to). Applied wrong, Cerakote is like enamel paint.

Avoid the "special" chamber coating and slide finishes from Sig until they sort out the problems.

The "base" P320 is a good gun that avoids all the issues at this time. The "base" P320/P320RX design/finishes/materials will carry Sig well into the 21 century. Sig needs to not "fake the funk on a nasty dunk" with this platform.

Sig and Glock have "lost a step" among German handgun manufacturers.

Got 4 more Walther/Mec-Gar mags and hit the range yesterday, ran 200rds thru the PPQ in under 1 hr, flawless operation. Walking in the door with 72 rds mag ready, and the UpLULA loader on hand, makes ammo go quick.

This gun is now my EDC, with 2 mags backing up the one in the gun.

The new home defense/EDC, really like the tritium HD "no charge up" sights (comes out of the holster/bedside safe glowing bright), These Trijicon sites (with the U-notch rear Battle-sight) pushed the sight radius to over 6.5 inches.....

Just came in to post that I'm back - and after this drop fiasco with Sig Sauer and the fact that they have horrendous support, parts availability, don't get me started on this P320 platform, its up for sale. The 320 Compact in 45 is a nice size/capacity weapon, but I'm not in love with it at all, I really like it, but I don't love it. I'll take the hit, if I can get $100 rebate from Walther - hoping to have a buyer lined up so I can purchase it during the rebate period which expires in 4 days.

Also, since I've been MIA moving from NJ to NC, I did pick up one last pistol before I left - an HK P30L in V1 Light LEM trigger - WOWWWWWWW - is all I can say - what a beautifully made pistol and a great hammer fired setup, no safety, how it should be, but still has a DA pull for second strikes. The european paddle mag release is actually super intuitive and natural as well. Smooth shooter and dead as nuts accurate, between my PPQ and the P30L I can shoot a big ass 2" hole at 10 yards with either. I did catch the HK bug, but I still love my PPQ and thus why its getting a brother.

Yes TiAg, I'm with you, and which is why I'm getting the PPQ in 45ACP as well, every time I shoot my 9mm I am reminded of what a beautiful ergonomic grip, well made construction, and the best striker fired trigger on the market.

How do you like the Trijicon HD? I have Truglo TFX Pro on my 9mm and will go on the 45 as well when I get it, I like a press fit site and the fiber optic during the day is great for outdoor ranges.

Only other mod on my 9mm is a BT Guide Rods replacement guide rod using factory spring, and that will also go on the 45. No other mods for me except for good holsters and firing a bunch of ammo through them.

I also am going to take advantage of HK's P30/VP9 rebate for 4 additional magazines, VP9 LE in OD Green is $520 shipped right now with night sights and 3 mags - 1.5 years ago these pistols were a great buy at $699 out the door - times are good now thanks to our president, time to stock up!

But yes, sorely disappointed in the Sig P320 platform, don't get me started on the stupid Xchange kits - if the weapon is not drop safe and advertised as such I should have been offered for them to buy it back from me or give me credit towards another pistol - I agree they are not the Sig Sauer of old, parts being made in 3rd world countries now, etc.....

Sorry to hear about the Sig issues RB. Seems things went from bad to worse for Sig over the past few months (in regard to private owners), the main focus for them now is military contract fulfillment.

I've always liked the Truglo TFX sights with one exception, being OCD about sight radius has kept me with Trijicon non-fiber-optic sights.

Saw a poster on Walther Forum with 16 posts today, username Ricky Bobby. You?

^^ We meet again my friend

Just sent in my $100 rebate form to Walther, can't wait to get $100 back -

I know you have big mittens and use the large backstrap, but I'll be honest I cannot get over how close in grip thickness the Q45 is to the 9mm/40 -

I have the Small backstrap on my Q9, the Medium would do fine as well - since there is no Small on the Q45, the Medium actually is perfect - its amazing for a double stack 45 and admittedly I have smaller hands that it fits as well as it does (the ergonomics get the credit)

For example the large frame Gen4 Glock's just feel like holding large bricks, and I actually was at the shop the other day getting my goodies, and a guy had a Shield 45 - you would think for a single stack its thin right, well it may be "slim" but the depth of the backstrap is nuts, it actually feels more blocky in my hand than the Q45 -

If Walther came out with a PPS M2 or M3 style in the 45ACP I would surely buy one and carry it -

I really need to post up some pics but I also scored a VP9 Tactical with night sights from Palmetto State Armory before the HK rebate expired for $550 delivered to my FFL - also submitted that rebate to get 4 more additional magazines for free from HK -

I got in on both rebate deals from Walther and HK the day before each expired LOL - just like my P30L, the VP9 just sits amazing in the hand, the trigger is not as good as the PPQ's, but it is still very very very good and it will be a great pistol to have and maybe one day get a suppressor for it -

Oh and I bought my first MSR, just a basic M&P15 Sport II but its a good starting point for me to get into the AR platform -

Can you tell I'm loving having my freedoms back, here in the South?
