Obama was so good I'd consider changing my vote if it were not for my distrust of his past and lack of experience. You can't deny he was prepared and he did much better thinking on his feet by answering fast and to the point on almost every question. I'm seriously considering changing my vote to Bob Barr in protest. |

If these two candidates are the best we have to choose from, God help us. It does "seem" that Obama did well but still.....
PS: I do think the term "that one" was rude. Show some level of respect and you may gain some points on that alone.

IMO: Obama is getting better at this and did much better than MaCain yesterday.
The "That one” comment: Is absolutely nothing, and I can't stand when commentator who know better start making stuff up out of nothing. It was awkward and strange when it was said and I did notice it instantly, but to say that it was intentional or meant to demean Obama is absolutely ridicules.... One other thing. I like Tom Brokaw but he did an absolute terrible job. He looked like he had been up for about a week and he made little attempt to keep the candidates inside the rules and bounds they all agreed on prior to the debate. I'd see the light turn red and McCain would go on for another 5 minutes it seemed.

imho...both presented a valid case for why they should be nominated. Obama just seemed to come off more presidential. He definitely won over the ceo with his constant address of the middle class. I don't recall "that" other fella mentioning the middle class even once.
And yes, i do believe that some minorities may take offense to "that one". As a minority, i wasn't offended by it because i expect that from McCain (i.e. his vote against acknowledging MLK day?)...Obama is a U.S. Senator, not only does he have a name to be addressed by, he has a public office title. Perhaps if "that one" was directed at me, then i can imagine taking some offense to it. However, i don't believe it deserves the media attention it's getting and may not affect McCain, if it all. |

I'm still looking for a definition of middle class and rich.

I thought Obama appeared more comfortable, and he was easier to listen to. That speaks to his presentation, not his policies.
McCain appeared to be earnestly trying, but didn't come across as comfortable. It was as if he kept thinking about the recent polls, instead of trying to connect with the audience. I thought "that one" was awkward, but not intentional. News people made too much out of it. I didn't even think of a racial tone to it, it was just awkward sounding. Brokaw as moderator was useless, they should have had someone as effective as the VP debate who could keep it on time. Brokaw even joked that he was just there to watch. The definition of middle class? With apologies to Rolls Royce and their long time slogan, if you have to ask then you probably aren't it. The way the market is going, though, many above it are probably descending into it, and those at the lower rungs are probably falling out of it.
