PITTSBURGH -- A 20-year-old woman who was robbed at an ATM in Bloomfield was also maimed by her attacker, police said.
Pittsburgh police spokeswoman Diane Richard tells Channel 4 Action News that the victim was robbed at knifepoint on Wednesday night outside of a Citizens Bank near Liberty Avenue and Pearl Street just before 9 p.m.
Richard said the robber took $60 from the woman, then became angry when he saw a McCain bumper sticker on the victim's car. The attacker then punched and kicked the victim, before using the knife to scratch the letter "B" into her face, Richard said.
Richard said the woman refused medical treatment after the assault, which happened outside the view of the bank's surveillance cameras.
The robber is described as a dark-skinned black man, 6 feet 4 inches tall, 200 pounds with a medium build, short black hair and brown eyes. The man was wearing dark colored jeans, a black undershirt and black shoes.
The Obama-Biden campaign released a statement, commenting on the attack. The statement said "Our thoughts and prayers are with the young woman for her to make a speedy recovery, and we hope that the person who perpetrated this crime is swiftly apprehended and brought to justice."

I don't condone any violence whatsoever, but this story seems quite strange for these reasons.

1. she declined to comment on the attack
2. she refused medical treatment after the assault
3. The attack took place outside the view of ATM cameras
4. the "B" appears to be carved in backwards
5. If her attacker was facing her and took the time to carve into her face, couldn't she give a better description of her attacker than the general description of dark-skinned black man, 6 feet 4 inches tall, 200 pounds with a medium build, short black hair and brown eyes, wearing dark colored jeans, a black undershirt and black shoes?

It does sound a little strange. Especially the part about declining medical treatment. Who wouldn't want to be checked out after getting punched, kicked and carved up?

I guess if they were close enough to her car they really may have been out of the ATM camera range and maybe he had his hand over her eyes or part of her face as he was carving it up, or maybe the whole thing is BS.

If this story is proven to be a fraud, the problem now is that the bell cannot be unrung for those that want to perpetuate the fraud. This story is already burning up the internet. As a black man, 6'4", 200+ lbs, dark hair, brown eyes, I am highly offended by the allegedly false allegations. If the story turns out to be true, my apologies and condolences.
