Hmmm....so you post a thread ranting about political threads and then add a post with your personal political opinion?

It sounds like you must have read many of them. I would imagine that a person who doesn't want to read political threads on a car forum would just simply ignore them.

Could it be that you actually like reading them and this is your way of adding you $0.02?

I think it is this sort of thing that makes X5 World so much better than most car forums. You really can talk about anything and everything. I may not always agree with what others post, but it can be interesting to talk about it. I would have never thought I would be writing political posts on this forum, but after reading a bunch of them I felt compelled to do so, just like you did.

Stay tuned for posts 2 and 3 from me in this thread where I will reiterate everything that I said in this post.

That is not the case. The forum will be open as long as there is a need for it.

Here is post #2 from the department of redundancy department.

I am obvisoulsy joking around, but I do think it is funny that you said the following in your first post;

Especially amazing to me that you will insist on doing so on a board that is ostensibly dedicated to BMW X5 automobiles. Why not find a different, more appropriate board for your rants.

Here is my issue with you saying that. As of right now you have posted 53 times on X5 World and over half of them were in political, economical or other threads that had absolutely nothing to do with X5's or automobiles in general. Here is another point, over half of the threads that you posted that actually had something to do with cars were about the Mercedes ML. Aren't there better forums to discuss the ML than a website dedicated to the BMW X5 as you say? My guess is that there are, but that you too are drawn to X5 World because it is not like all the other car forums out there and you can discuss other topics.

Just saying.

P.S. Unlike with Obama, you have a voting record and we can use it against you.

Nice post

The most important message at this point in the race is to vote. It's our duty as citizens, and it will shape our future. Pay attention to local politics, do the research there, because you could be deciding the entire career of a person. Support the candidate not who you think will save the entire world, because that won't happen. Support that candidate who you feel best represents your views.
I consider myself a Democrat, but that does not mean I'm automatically going to check off all the Dems on the ballot. If you feel that items that are important to you are not being represented, don't complain, stand up for them. It's not the government vs the people, it's We the People. We are the government, and if you do not voice your opinion, in one way or the other, what right do you have to complain?
Most importantly, make a difference.

Shouldn't vote for someone who has a protectionist view on international trade! Keep the free trade going strong and fair!

I agree strongly that free trade is an important consideration, and if it was the only issue in this election the choice would be clear, given the candidate's speeches. Obama's rhetoric was not well received here. That said, it is but one issue amongst many, and while the Republicans should be stronger proponents of free trade that hasn't materialized in support for trade issues such as the softwood lumber tarriff war. Our local forestry industry was decimated by protectionist barriers that were supported by a Republican president that wasn't following the free trade principles his party espouses. Makes you wonder what you can depend on.

PS: I see we've moved from You Tube to the CTV, a big step forward.
