Obama's cabinet may give him other than just far left arguments - these can be used as a balance against Pelosi and Reed. They weld lots of power - we might now just stand a chance against socialism. Or more of it. Oh hell, I sure hope so.

We will have an end to the Iraq war, this is one change I'm awaiting...
I'm also glad we will have a goal of becoming energy-independent in 10 years...

That has already been negotiated in the SOFA between US forces and Iraq. Obama isn't going to be removing anything, Iraqi mandates will.

I'll believe that "energy independent" item when he shows an actual plan. Also, Canada will probably be pissed about that since they are our number one importer.

You can bet there will still be American troops in Iraq in 100 years. If you take a look at the fine print on those negotiated agreements, they say "combat troops", whatever that means. Even with all the talk of withdrawing our troops at some point, they are still in the process of building a dozen or so perminant military bases. As far as I'm concerned, the war will be over when there are no longer any US troops in that country. If you disagree with that logic, then I ask you to apply the same logic when determining wars between other countries. For example, how would you feel if Russia said their war with Georgia was over even if they still had a dozen military bases inside of Georgia? It is simply BS.

They said this the same way they said Osama bin Laden was behind the 9/11 attacks, and the same way they said that Saddam Hussein had ties to al-Queda. They carefully watch their wording, and without ever making a single concrete statement, they clearly imply it. Then they can go back at a later date and claim they never actually said it. I think they teach that in Politician Class 101.

Exactly. However I'm sure Obama and the dems will attempt to say "we ended the war in Iraq" and it was only implied if you're a moron But then again, the masses did vote for change boy, so maybe they do believe that

Apparently they have determined that our next attack will happen in the next 5 years.

A bipartisan commission is asserting the country should expect a terrorist attack using nuclear or biological weapons sometime in the next five years.

The US does not listen to Iraqi mandates... We will leave on our own accord, when we choose to.

Energy independence will come!!! We made it to the moon right?
