No, I'm saying half of the country voted for him, and half didn't. Europe was euphoric, because they hate conservatives.

So, you, the half of the country that voted for him, and the Europeans may have "hope".

However, there is still a large portion of the country who is not caught up in the rhetoric, and has a wait-and-see attitude.

So, you can not make statements like "everyone has more hope in their lives". Obama has very little, if anything, to do with how much "hope", whatever that means, that I personally have in my life.

I hope the guy does well. He seems to be off to a reasonable start. But there is not much that he will do that gives, or takes away, hope from my life.

I guess whilst I'm at it, I will add that, quite frankly, it scares me a little that someone with so much inexperience can be elected to the highest office in the world on the basis of celebrity status alone. This man now commands the mightiest military, presides over the largest economy, and holds the title of Most Powerful Man in the World. He earned all of that based on a speech he gave at a convention 4 years ago, when he was still a State Senator. Yikes.

But, we hashed all that out back in November, and I am trying to move on.

I concede these points, but these are hardly Presidential qualifiers.

As I said, I am trying to move on. In the meantime, I am tense and braced for a crash, like when the driver of a car you are in decides to gas it for a yellow light, and you are not sure if you will come out safe on the other side, or if you will get smashed in the middle.

Back on topic, I was in DC this weekend. I've never seen so many security guards and police officers.

Even though I'm one of the "NOBAMAs," it was a pretty magical environment. The energy felt was unreal. I wish I could've stayed for the inauguration, but I have to work today.
