What is the difference between first-gen hispanic and third-gen hispanic? Does the article mean to say first/third-gen "hispanic american"?

The artlcle is more about religous ideology rather than political affiliation.
Great questions; I don't have time today to research the particulars but I do have some theories based on what I have seen.

Abortion and Gay rights are pretty strong "Conservative" issues which among "Whites" tends to equate to other "Conservative" values. I think African Americans are an exception who overwhelmingly support "Liberal" values though most it think are against gay rights and I think most are anti-abortion. I'd be curious what the breakdown of African Americans who regularly attend Church vote Republican. I expect it does not follow with what I've seen with Hispanic and White voters. It might be cultural and I suspect has much to do with the number of "Liberal" leaning African American preachers. Remember this is what I'm guessing as I don't yet have any facts to back up this theory.

As for First and Third generation Hispanics...I'm not certain but I think that a vast majority of First Generation Hispanics vote when compared with Third Generation Hispanic voters. Again this is only a theory based on what I've seen and read.

This topic deserves its own thread because I'm curious to hear what others think.

That's the problem with your movement. You think minorities are as dumb as the hicks that listen to the FOX blowhards and will blindly follow their conservative agenda. Sort of like, "we'll choose Sarah Palin so she can take away Hillary supporters". Keep believing this FICTION, pal.......

Again..."My Movement"? You are showing your ignorance again and your argument is ridiculous. Are you even old enough to vote? You tend to debate like a teenager.

Just an observation.

Oh, the name calling and constant character attacks........ Must be a form of empowerment via the keyboard when you get owned.
I sometimes wonder if you have financial ties to FOX. You get so defensive when anything negative is ever said about them.

Read through your own posts and you will see you continually trash those who don't agree with your position. You rarely support your conclusion with facts and you come across as immature in my opinion.

Again I'll ask...What do you mean by "My Movement" and as earlier stated by you "My Side"? You paint with a broad brush even when facts don't support your position.

LabGuy - didn't you know, you were Bushs best friend for 8 years as were any people that don't like Obama. Didn't you get the Kool-Aid memo?

Like older first-gen Cuban Americans are relatively conservative and tend to vote republican, where as younger thrid-gen are more liberal (i.e. lift restrictions on Cuba) and tend to vote democrat.

Waaaaay of topic.

But I'd be willing to bet far more Older Cubin Americans vote on election day as do older Hispanics.

As for off topic the original topic was lame...Exactly how many here thought the killing was Justified? Zero. It was a lame attempt to equate Conservatives with the actions of a crazed individual. Much like equating Muslims with Terrorists which we all know is wrong.

Again, it deserves its own thread but that is too late.

The older "Cuban" Americans do tend to vote Republican not because of religion but because their political objection of Fidel is even greater. However, they are aging and their son's, grandson's and ggrandson's are all voting and tend to vote Democrat.....
